A Butterfly and Cupcakes Plaques

Hello all, I didn't manage to get over to last weeks Handmade Monday, I was busy painting plaques and the time went so quickly, I'm sure there is a little 'Time Thief' out there somewhere and steals away minutes, hours and even whole days. Here are some of my latest ones.....

Purple, Lilac and Pink are popular colours for a little girls room.

I love all the different colour combinations that are chosen for the personalised plaques, it's one of the things that makes every one unique. Do you have a favourite colour combination?

This week I had a guest spot on Ragbags and Gladrags, a lovely blog by Claire, she makes great clothes and does lots of artwork too. I hope you pop over for a nosey.

That's me done for this post, I'm looking forward to peeking at all the other great blogs that are linking up to Handmade Harbour

A Day in Ipswich

I've been out and about over the last few days, most of the time I've remembered to have my camera with me, although on one of my outings I did forget the batteries and only realised when I wasn't anywhere near a shop. But despite that, I did manage to take a few photo's. These are a few I took in Ipswich.

Christchurch Mansion Ipswich

I spent a good couple of hours looking around the beautiful Tudor Christchurch Mansion which also houses the Wolsey Art Gallery. I came across this lady on the wall just outside the gallery, isn't she lovely?

Most of these photo's will be used as research and inspiration for the paintings I'm doing for my Gallery Exhibition in June. I haven't done any crafting that I'm able to show you this week so I hope you enjoyed my pic's instead.

Don't forget to pop over to Handmade Harbour and join in the Linky Party.

Wishing you a great week end

Keyrings & Keyfobs for Handmade Monday

Hello all, I hope you have all had a good week, the time is passing by so quickly, hardly a blink of an eye and another week has passed.

I've made quite a few keyfobs in the past.....

Keys for Grandad's Shed
A place for Daddy's keys

Chunky keyrings

 Keyrings for Daddy

Fabric keyfobs

Fabric Fobs that are great for more than keys.

These can be used for bag charms, for zip pulls on jackets or bags, pencil cases or lunch bags.

Fairy Door Fobs

and my latest ones are some little 'garden sheds'

These have be handpainted onto wood and each one is different. I'm going to put these into my Folksy and WowThankYou shops with the option of personalising them.

I'm off to have a nosey at lots of other crafty people who have linked up with Handmade Harbour

April Showers for Handmade Monday

Hi guys, I missed joining in with Handmade Monday last week, I've been busy doing lots of family things for the last couple of weeks and loving every bit of it. Just a short post from me this week.
I haven't had much time to do 'crafty' things but I did have fun doing a small painting for The Crafty Network Craft Challenge

Wibbley Houses & April Showers

The theme was Pastel Colours and April Showers. I think it would make a great addition to a child's bedroom or nursery.

I had a lovely response to my last blog post and would like to say
Thank you, thank you & thank you

to everyone who popped over, it was lovely to read all your comments.

 Bye for now....

Little Wooden Houses

Another week has passed and it's time once again to saunter over to Handmade Monday @ Handmade Harbour, a great place to catch up with lots of great blogs.
On Saturday (6th April) I took part in one of the few craft fairs I'm attending this year. I was hoping for a pleasant day on the weather front and wasn't disappointed. It stayed bright and sunny all day, it was still a bit on the chilly side but hey, don't knock it, it's one of the best day's we've had for a while. The fair started slow but footfall built up nicely throughout the day. I had a reasonable day as did a few of the other stall holders but unfortunately some stalls didn't do well at all.

I thought I'd show you some little Wooden Houses I've been working on

A Row of Houses

The Post Office

These have been handpainted and have details on all sides

Hanging out the washing
A Cottage Garden

I've included a Post Office and a Police Station, other houses in the planning stage are a Sweet Shop, Tea Rooms and a Fire Station, some of the details I can include are door numbers or House Names, bird tables, a teapot on a table and many more items. These can also be painted to the customers specifications. What items would you choose to paint on one of these houses that would best represent you and your home?

 Have a great week

Pebble Painting

For those who are regular readers of my little corner may remember that I collected some pebbles with the view to painting them, well here are the first few. I will be taking these along to an up and coming craft fair.

As for my new facebook page and the dilemma of a name, I would like to thank everyone for your input and suggestions, after reading all your wonderful comments and taking everything on board I decided my new facebook page will be known as

Jan Ryan Art

Simple and to the point. It will be a couple of weeks before I have it up and running but I'll be sure to let you know so you can pop over.

What's in a name?

Help..... I need your input.....
As most of you know, I love doing all sorts of crafts and have a facebook page for showcasing my work.
I've been doing lots more painting lately, ACEO's, acrylics and canvases, and I have been thinking of setting decided to set up another facebook page just for my Artwork.
Of course, I'll be keeping my Handcrafted by Picto page and I'll still be making  Plaques and Fairy Doors for my online shops as well as all the other crafts I love. I couldn't stop doing all these things, they're so much fun to make and I love the interaction with my customers.

Plaques & Fairy Doors

The reason behind a separate page is I want to show more of my artwork under my own name and not the Picto name.
I sometimes have my paintings in a couple of local shops and occasionally have exhibitions in local galleries so I think it would be easier to have my 'Art' albums on a new facebook page completely separate from my craft items. I'm sure things will overlap at times but I don't see a problem with that.
As for my blog, that won't be changing, I'll probably just incorporate whatever 'title' I choose into some sort of tag line.

What I haven't decided yet, is what to call my second page, mmm there are so many options, did I say I needed your help? well here's where you come in,
should I go with.........
